  • Quoted before we touch a tool

A price in writing first. No "we’ll see how we go".

  • Owners on the tools

You deal with Dylan or Hayden, not a call centre.

  • 5-year workmanship warranty

On every air con install we do, on top of the unit warranty.

  • We come back

If something isn't right, we're back to sort it out.

What was there

An old split system on a covered deck, past the point where another repair made sense. That is the usual reason a changeover lands on our list — not that the unit is dead, but that the third fault in two summers costs more than half of a new one.

What we did

The refrigerant came out first, recovered into a cylinder rather than vented, which is the law and also the only way to do it if you want to keep your licence. Old unit off, brackets and pipework assessed — a changeover is only a straight swap if the existing pipe run is the right size, the right length and not full of old oil, and that is worth checking before anyone quotes you a “one-hour swap”.

New Mitsubishi Electric outdoor unit on, set level and up off the deck on feet so water and leaf litter run under it instead of sitting against the base. Vacuum, pressure test, commission, run it long enough to see it hold temperature. The old unit, the old brackets and every bit of packaging went away in the van.

What we left behind

A working system, the model and serial written down so the manufacturer’s warranty can be registered, and a deck with nothing on it that wasn’t there before.
