Owners on the tools
Dylan and Hayden own the business and turn up to the jobs. The person who quotes it is the person who does it — or the bloke standing next to them.
Meet the crewElectrical
Still got ceramic fuses and a bit of fuse wire in the drawer? No safety switches on the power circuits? That board is doing half the job it should be. We'll replace it and test the lot.

The problem
If one of these is you, you are in the right place. Tell us which one and we will come back with a price.
What we do
Old ceramic fuses, no safety switches, nowhere left to add a circuit. We bring the board up to current standards.
What's included
A ceramic fuse protects the wiring in the wall. It does nothing for the person holding the faulty appliance. Safety switches — RCDs — cut the circuit in about 30 milliseconds when current starts leaking through someone, and that is the difference between a fright and a fatality.
The current approach is an RCBO per circuit: overload protection and earth-leakage protection in the one device, on its own circuit. So when the toaster faults, the toaster’s circuit drops out — not the whole house, not the fridge, not the alarm.
The power goes off for most of it, so we’ll agree a day and a start time that suits, and we work straight through. Old board out, new enclosure in, every circuit landed, identified and labelled, then the full test sequence: insulation resistance, earth continuity, polarity, RCD trip times.
If the main earth or the water bonding isn’t up to standard — common on houses built before the mid-90s — it gets sorted as part of the job. If the meter or the service cable has to be touched, that involves Energex and we’ll walk you through what that means and what it adds before you commit to anything.
You get the certificate of testing and compliance at the end. Keep it: it’s what a conveyancer, an insurer or a building inspector will ask for.
Electrical work gets quoted per job, so there is no honest price to put on a page — every house is different. What we can promise is that you see the number before anyone starts.
Most domestic switchboard upgrades are a half to a full day, and the price depends on the board, the meter setup and what the earthing looks like. You get the number in writing before we start.
Request a QuoteA price in writing, first
We look at the job, then send the number. Nothing starts until you have said yes to it.
The price is the price
If we find something we could not see, you get a call and a revised number — not a bigger invoice at the end.
10% pensioner discount
Just mention it when you send the job through and we will take it off the quote.
Who we work for
Three very different jobs, three different things that matter. Here's how we handle each one.
Someone who turns up when they said, does it properly and tells you the price first.
A sub you can put on the program and forget about. Rough-in to fit-off, on the day.
Fast make-safes, compliance that stands up, and an invoice your system will accept.
How it works
Tell us what needs doing. Photos help.
Within a business day, from Dylan or Hayden.
A price in writing before anyone touches a tool.
You pick a day that works and we turn up on it.
Questions
Open the door and have a look. Ceramic fuses with fuse wire, no safety switches, rust, scorch marks, a missing cover, or no room left to add a circuit — any of those and it’s time.
The big one is safety switches. If there isn’t one on every circuit, or there’s only one covering the lights, the board is protecting your wiring but not you.
Send us a photo of the inside of the board and we’ll tell you straight.
Most domestic boards are a half to a full day, and yes — the power is off for most of it.
We’ll agree a start time that suits and work straight through rather than spreading it over two visits. If you work from home, or there’s a freezer full of food, tell us while we’re quoting and we’ll plan around it.
If the meter or the service cable has to be touched, Energex gets involved and we’ll explain what that adds before you commit.
Because it’s doing its job — something is leaking current to earth and it’s cutting the power before that goes through a person.
Common causes: a faulty appliance (kettles, dryers and old fridges are regulars), water in an outdoor point or a light fitting, or damaged cable. Nuisance tripping under load usually points at one appliance.
Unplug everything on that circuit and reset it. If it still trips, stop resetting it and call us.
Yes. Any new or altered electrical installation work gets a Certificate of Testing and Compliance, which is what says a licensed electrician tested it and it meets the standard.
You get a copy — keep it. A conveyancer, an insurer, a building certifier or a property manager will eventually ask for it, and it is much easier to hand over than to chase up years later.
Builders get theirs as the work is completed so nothing holds up handover.
Why AWSM
Most jobs need a sparky, an air con bloke, or both. You get both from the same team — one quote, one invoice, nobody to blame.

Dylan and Hayden own the business and turn up to the jobs. The person who quotes it is the person who does it — or the bloke standing next to them.
Meet the crewGear we can get parts for in ten years, not whatever was cheapest this week. If you'd rather supply your own, that's fine too.
