Electrical

Power point installation in North Brisbane

Running an extension lead across the lounge because there's one point behind the couch? We'll put points where you actually use them — inside, outside, USB, or a dedicated circuit for the big stuff.

  • Single, double and quad points, inside or out
  • USB-A and USB-C points where phones actually live
  • Weatherproof IP-rated points for patios, sheds and pool areas
  • Dedicated circuits for ovens, ranges, fridges, air con and workshop gear

  • Quoted before we touch a tool

A price in writing first. No "we’ll see how we go".

  • Owners on the tools

You deal with Dylan or Hayden, not a call centre.

  • 5-year workmanship warranty

On every air con install we do, on top of the unit warranty.

  • We come back

If something isn't right, we're back to sort it out.

The problem

Sound familiar?

If one of these is you, you are in the right place. Tell us which one and we will come back with a price.

  • There's one power point for the whole wall
  • We've got double adaptors stacked on double adaptors
  • Nowhere to charge anything by the bed
  • The outdoor lead runs out a window
  • The new fridge or oven needs its own circuit
  • The garage has no power at all

What we do

What we actually do.

New points, extra points, USB points, outdoor points. Tidy work, cable run properly, walls patched where we can.

What's included

  • Single, double and quad points, inside or out
  • USB-A and USB-C points where phones actually live
  • Weatherproof IP-rated points for patios, sheds and pool areas
  • Dedicated circuits for ovens, ranges, fridges, air con and workshop gear
  • Cable run in the roof or wall cavity where we can, not surface-clipped across a feature wall
  • Old points swapped for new, matching plates across the room

Where the points should go

The cheapest job is rarely the right one. Before we quote, we’ll ask what’s going where — the bench, the TV wall, the bed, the shed — because a point 300 mm from where the lead has to reach is a point you’ll still be annoyed about in five years.

Outdoor points need a weatherproof enclosure and, in most spots, an RCD-protected circuit. Points near a sink or a laundry tub have clearance rules. New appliance circuits often mean the switchboard gets looked at too, and we’ll tell you up front if yours can’t take another one rather than finding out on the day.

How the walls end up

Cable goes through the roof space or the cavity wherever it can, so you get a plate on the wall and nothing else. Where a wall has to be opened, we cut neat, we keep the piece, and we tell you before we do it — plaster patching and painting we leave to you or your painter unless you’d rather we arrange it.

Gyprock, brick, weatherboard, hebel: all fine. A double-brick wall with no cavity is the one that sometimes needs a different plan, and we’ll say so while we’re quoting, not after.

Quoted before we touch a tool.

Electrical work gets quoted per job, so there is no honest price to put on a page — every house is different. What we can promise is that you see the number before anyone starts.

Request a Quote
  • A price in writing, first

We look at the job, then send the number. Nothing starts until you have said yes to it.

  • The price is the price

If we find something we could not see, you get a call and a revised number — not a bigger invoice at the end.

  • 10% pensioner discount

Just mention it when you send the job through and we will take it off the quote.

Who we work for

Homes, builds and rent rolls.

Three very different jobs, three different things that matter. Here's how we handle each one.

  • Homeowners

Someone who turns up when they said, does it properly and tells you the price first.

    • Written quote before we start
    • One crew for the wiring and the air con
    • We clean up after ourselves
    • We come back if something isn’t right

  • Builders

A sub you can put on the program and forget about. Rough-in to fit-off, on the day.

    • Rough-in, fit-off and final testing
    • Electrical and air con on one order
    • We turn up when the schedule says
    • Certificates and paperwork done properly
    Talk about your next job
  • Property managers

Fast make-safes, compliance that stands up, and an invoice your system will accept.

    • Smoke alarm and safety switch compliance
    • We deal with the tenant for access
    • Photos and notes on every job

Questions

The things people ask about this one.

Can you put a power point outside?

Yes, and it’s a common one — patios, sheds, pool pumps, Christmas lights, the caravan.

Outdoor points need a weatherproof enclosure rated for where it’s going, and the circuit needs safety switch protection. A point under a covered patio and a point on an exposed wall are two different enclosures, so we’ll have a look at the spot before quoting.

Sheds and granny flats are often a bigger conversation — a sub-main rather than a point. We’ll tell you which one you actually need.

How do your quotes work?

You get a price in writing before we touch a tool. That’s the promise the whole business runs on.

Tell us what needs doing — photos of the switchboard or the unit help a lot — and Dylan or Hayden will call you back to check the details. Then the quote comes through in writing. If you’re happy with it, we book a day. No surprise numbers at the end of the job.

Can I supply my own light fittings or air con unit?

Usually yes, and plenty of people do.

Two conditions: it has to be compliant gear for Australia, and the warranty on the unit itself stays between you and wherever you bought it. We’ll warrant our installation either way.

Send us the model before you buy it and we’ll tell you if it’s suitable for the spot you’ve got in mind — that’s a cheaper conversation than finding out afterwards.

Will you make a mess of my house?

We clean up after ourselves. Drop sheets down, dust vacuumed up, old fittings and packaging taken away with us.

Where a wall or ceiling has to be opened we cut neat and tell you first, so you know exactly what you’re getting back. Plaster patching and painting we leave to you or your painter unless you’d rather we organise it — just ask while we’re quoting.

Shoes off inside if that’s the house rule. No worries.

My switch and power point covers are cracked and yellow. Can you replace those?

Yes, and it is one of the cheapest things you can do to a house. The cover plate is the part you touch and look at every day, and swapping a room’s worth of cracked, sun-yellowed ones for new white or matt black takes a fraction of the time people expect.

It is worth doing while we are there for something else — the labour is already on site, so you are mostly paying for the plates. If a plate comes off and there is something behind it we are not happy with, we’ll show you a photo and tell you what it needs before we do anything about it.

Why AWSM

Two trades, one crew, no excuses.

Most jobs need a sparky, an air con bloke, or both. You get both from the same team — one quote, one invoice, nobody to blame.

Owners on the tools

Dylan and Hayden own the business and turn up to the jobs. The person who quotes it is the person who does it — or the bloke standing next to them.
