Who we are

This website is run by AWSM Services Pty Ltd (ABN 30 671 579 918), trading as AWSM Electrical & Air, of Deception Bay QLD 4508. You can reach us on 0439 850 041 or at awsmservicesau@gmail.com.

Under the Privacy Act, small businesses below the annual turnover threshold are not obliged to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles. We follow them anyway, because it is your information and the rules are reasonable.

What we collect, and when

We do not collect anything about you until you send it to us. Nothing on this site asks you to make an account, and there is no tracking pixel following you around it.

When you submit a quote, booking or contact form we record:

• your name, mobile number and email address;
• where the job is — the street address and suburb on the booking form, the suburb on the short contact form (the quote form doesn't ask);
• the service you picked, your answers to the few questions about that service, and what you wrote about the job;
• a preferred date, if you gave one;
• any photos or files you attached;
• how you heard about us, if you told us;
• technical details that come with any web request — the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, the site that referred you, your browser's user agent string, your IP address and the country it resolves to, plus any campaign tags (utm_*,gclid, fbclid) that were on the link you arrived through.

The IP address is kept for one reason: the form allows a limited number of submissions per hour from the same address, which is what stops the form being used to send spam.

When you ring or email us we keep whatever you tell us, in the same job record, because that is how we quote the work.

What we use it for

• calling you back and quoting the job;
• booking, doing and invoicing the work;
• keeping a record of the job, including photos, for warranty and compliance;
• working out which advertising is worth paying for — in aggregate, not to build a profile of you.

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us for a quote.

Who it is shared with

A small number of services we use to actually run the business. Each one sees only what it needs.

• Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores enquiries and any files you attach. Servers are in Australia and Cloudflare's global network.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — the spam check on the forms. It sees the interaction, not the content of your enquiry.
• ServiceM8 — our job management system. Your enquiry goes into its Inbox — your details, the job, your answers and how you found us (for example "Google Ads", or what you picked under "how did you hear about us") — and ServiceM8 emails us to say it has arrived. We turn it into a job from there.
• Resend — only if your enquiry doesn't reach ServiceM8: it emails us what you sent, so we can still call you back.
• Xero — accounting and invoicing, once a job goes ahead.

Some of these store data outside Australia. We would also disclose information if the law required it, which has not happened.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies today. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie as part of the spam check on a form page.

When we do switch on Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, they will be loaded through Google Tag Manager and this page will be updated to say so before they go live. You can block all of it with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker and every part of this site will still work.

How long we keep it

Job records, invoices and the documents that go with them are kept for at least five years, which is what tax and electrical compliance record-keeping requires. Enquiries that never became a job are kept while they are still useful to follow up. Photos you attach are stored with the enquiry.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS, and the links to any file you upload are single-use signed links rather than public URLs. Access to the job system is limited to the four of us. No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than claim otherwise.

Asking for a copy, a correction, or deletion

Email awsmservicesau@gmail.com or ring 0439 850 041 and ask. We will give you what we hold, fix anything wrong, or delete it — except for the records we are legally required to keep, which we will tell you about rather than quietly hold onto.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top. There is no list of past versions — if something matters to you, ask and we will tell you what it used to say.
