You deal with Dylan or Hayden, not a call centre.

  • 5-year workmanship warranty

On every air con install we do, on top of the unit warranty.

  • We come back

If something isn't right, we're back to sort it out.

The problem

Sound familiar?

If one of these is you, you are in the right place. Tell us which one and we will come back with a price.

  • The room is dark no matter what globe goes in
  • Halogen downlights are hot, yellow and expensive
  • There's a shadow right over the kitchen bench
  • The back yard is pitch black after dark
  • We want a pendant over the island but there's no point there
  • Half the downlights have died and they don't match any more

What we do

What we actually do.

LED downlights, pendants, outdoor and security lighting, and full lighting plans for a renovation or a new build.

What's included

  • LED downlight upgrades, old halogens and their transformers removed properly
  • Feature pendants, wall lights and strip lighting, including new points in the ceiling
  • Kitchen, bench and task lighting planned around where you actually stand
  • Outdoor, garden, patio and sensor-driven security lighting
  • Dimmers matched to the fittings so nothing flickers or buzzes
  • A lighting layout for a renovation or new build, drawn before anything gets cut

Getting a room right, not just lit

Most bad lighting is a layout problem, not a fitting problem. Downlights in a neat grid put the light in the middle of the room and leave you working in your own shadow at the bench. Moving them to the front edge of the cupboards fixes a kitchen more than any globe ever will.

So we plan it first: what the room is for, where you stand, what’s on the walls, how much natural light it gets in the afternoon. Then beam angle, colour temperature and dimming get picked to match — warm white where you relax, neutral where you cook and work.

Fittings, dimmers and the stuff that goes wrong

We install good-quality LED fittings we can still get parts for in a few years. If you’ve already bought your own pendants or feature lights, that’s fine — we’ll install them, as long as they’re compliant and safe to connect.

Dimmers are where cheap jobs come undone. A trailing-edge dimmer paired with the wrong driver gives you flicker, buzz and a light that won’t go below half. We match the dimmer to the fitting and test the whole circuit through its range before we call it finished.

Outdoor and security lighting gets weatherproof fittings and sensors aimed so they trigger on someone walking up the drive, not on a possum on the fence.

Quoted before we touch a tool.

Electrical work gets quoted per job, so there is no honest price to put on a page — every house is different. What we can promise is that you see the number before anyone starts.

Request a Quote
  • A price in writing, first

We look at the job, then send the number. Nothing starts until you have said yes to it.

  • The price is the price

If we find something we could not see, you get a call and a revised number — not a bigger invoice at the end.

  • 10% pensioner discount

Just mention it when you send the job through and we will take it off the quote.

Who we work for

Homes, builds and rent rolls.

Three very different jobs, three different things that matter. Here's how we handle each one.

  • Homeowners

Someone who turns up when they said, does it properly and tells you the price first.

    • Written quote before we start
    • One crew for the wiring and the air con
    • We clean up after ourselves
    • We come back if something isn’t right

    • Rough-in, fit-off and final testing

Questions

The things people ask about this one.

Can you swap my old halogen downlights for LED?

Yes, and it’s one of the better-value jobs going. Halogens run hot, burn a lot of power and need globes replaced constantly.

We remove the old fittings and their transformers rather than leaving them in the ceiling, and fit LED downlights with the right beam angle and colour temperature for the room — warm white where you relax, neutral where you cook.

While the ceiling is open we’ll tell you if the layout is wrong. Moving two lights often does more than replacing ten.

Can I supply my own light fittings or air con unit?

Usually yes, and plenty of people do.

Two conditions: it has to be compliant gear for Australia, and the warranty on the unit itself stays between you and wherever you bought it. We’ll warrant our installation either way.

Send us the model before you buy it and we’ll tell you if it’s suitable for the spot you’ve got in mind — that’s a cheaper conversation than finding out afterwards.

How do your quotes work?

You get a price in writing before we touch a tool. That’s the promise the whole business runs on.

Tell us what needs doing — photos of the switchboard or the unit help a lot — and Dylan or Hayden will call you back to check the details. Then the quote comes through in writing. If you’re happy with it, we book a day. No surprise numbers at the end of the job.

Will you make a mess of my house?

We clean up after ourselves. Drop sheets down, dust vacuumed up, old fittings and packaging taken away with us.

Where a wall or ceiling has to be opened we cut neat and tell you first, so you know exactly what you’re getting back. Plaster patching and painting we leave to you or your painter unless you’d rather we organise it — just ask while we’re quoting.

Shoes off inside if that’s the house rule. No worries.

Why AWSM

Two trades, one crew, no excuses.

Most jobs need a sparky, an air con bloke, or both. You get both from the same team — one quote, one invoice, nobody to blame.

Owners on the tools

Dylan and Hayden own the business and turn up to the jobs. The person who quotes it is the person who does it — or the bloke standing next to them.
